About

Melani Rossouw was born in the Free State, South Africa . She discovered her creative gift at the age of 12, her talent blossoming as she tried different types of creative mediums throughout high school.
 

In 2001, Melani won the Danielle Howard Prize for Best Performance In Graphic Design. Which led her to completing a graphic design course at City Varsity Cape Town, South Africa. After many achievements and accolades, she he found herself in the design and fashion industry, working for the world renowned Vanessa Gounden London Collective.

Melani is inspired by street art and fine art, combining the two styles for a unique and compelling result. Loose brush strokes, free paint splatter technique, and a mix of acrylic, spray and oil paint are characteristic of her work.

In 2019 Melani’s work was exhibited at the Old Venetian Harbour in Crete, Greece and soon after that a few pieces were showcased at Design Plus during Miami Art Basel. Her work was also seen in Vanity Fair’s 2021 March, Hollywood and April publications. In June 2023, her artwork appeared on the 90 metres long panoramic billboard at Passeig de Gracia, one of Barcelona’s most iconic and busiest metro stations, as part of The Art Tunnel, hosted by Expo Metro.
